Welcome to the Clean Day Journal

The name Clean Day was borrowed from a grandmother in New Hampshire. This journal is where we write about what consistently excellent actually means in practice.

Clean Day started with a name borrowed from my grandmother, and this journal is where we’ll write about what “consistently excellent” actually means in practice, not just as a slogan.

I grew up in New Hampshire, and Saturdays meant helping my grandmother clean homes around town. She called it Clean Day. It wasn’t just chores. It was pride in a space that felt genuinely cared for. That’s the standard this company is named for, and the one my wife, my daughter, and I hold the whole team to today, out here in Sacramento.

This space is going to stay practical: guides and best practices for keeping homes and commercial spaces in top condition, plus what property managers and real estate agents should know about turnover cleaning. Some posts will pull back the curtain on how we work, others will be straightforward how-to. Every one of them earns its place here.

Thanks for reading. We look forward to earning your trust, one Clean Day at a time.

Mark Pinard

Founder, Clean Day Home Services

Mark Pinard spent 15 years leading marketing and product strategy for SaaS companies before leaving that career behind to build Clean Day Home Services full time. He learned what real quality looks like as a kid in New Hampshire, spending Saturdays helping his grandmother clean homes around town, work she simply called Clean Day. Today he runs Clean Day as a true family business out of El Dorado Hills, alongside his wife and daughter. He writes here about the practical side of keeping a home or workplace in real shape, the stuff that actually holds up between visits, not just the version that looks good in a photo. When he’s not writing checklists, he’s usually running one himself.
